POSTER DUKE-OUT CONTEST ANNOUNCES WINNER

TELUS  World Ski and Snowboard Festival’s Souvenir Poster series launches with “Chaotic Hollywood”


WHISTLER, BC , March 25 2007 –

Vas Goulopoulos has never been to Whistler.

But that didn’t stop him from capturing its essence graphically.


A professional designer at Pressure.org, a Toronto design house, Goulopoulos was encouraged by his creative director and CEO Barron Lau to enter the Festival’s inaugural Poster Design Duke-Out competition, as an opportunity to work on something that was pure creative.

“He was absolutely ecstatic about the creative potential. It was a chance for our designers to stretch their creative legs,” said Gouloupoulos.

A former skateboarder, Gouloupoulos has a love for deck and board art. “I pre-occupy myself designing for this medium in my leisure time,” he said.

He drew inspiration from the thrill and passion people have for snowboarding, skiing and music to style a piece that would say “high octane, explosive, extreme weekend.”

Called “Chaotic Hollywood”, the winning design was chosen to be the first souvenir poster produced by the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival.


500 copies of the limited edition posters will be printed with vegetable dyes, on recycled paper, and will be available for purchase during the Festival.  

All proceeds from the sale of the posters will go to support WAG and Zero Ceiling.
