When my creative director and CEO Barron Lau
of Pressure.org found out about this competition he was absolutely
ecstatic about the creative potential. Although obviously not
a paid contract, producing this poster here at Pressure really
allowed the company to participate in a competition that was
pure creative and allow the opportunity for the designers to
stretch their creative legs. Pressure jumped at the opportunity
and immediately put me on the project.
I work and live in Toronto, I used to skate in
my younger days, I have a love for deck and board designs and
so I pre-occupy myself designing for this medium on my leisure
time, the thrill and passion that people have for snowboarding,
skiing and the music that follows was my inspiration for the
piece. After a range of initial sketches, I spent a considerable
amount of time preparing the artwork for this piece. It was a
laborious process but the end result was visually unique and
striking. The styling is entirely appropriate to the brand and
the event…. High octane, explosive, extreme weekend. It's called
“Chaotic Hollywood.” |
