FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TELUS WORLD SKI & SNOWBOARD FESTIVAL FLUSHES WORLDS BEST PHOTOGRAPHERS OUT OF HIDING February 11 Deadline Fast Approaching for $10,000 Pro Photographer Showdown
WHISTLER, BC , January 30, 2007 – In a world where your image portfolio is your resume, the Pro Photographer Showdown provides the ultimate exposure. Five of the world's best action sports and lifestyle photographers will showcase the best work of their careers at the 2007 TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival. Entrants have 12 days left to submit a 3 minute DVD of their images set to music to the selection jury by February 11 2007. The Review panel includes legendary image-maker Paul Morrison, Skier's former Creative Director Leslie Anthony, photographer and current editor of Skier magazine Mike Berard and Pro Photographer Showdown founder Jack Turner. Submissions should reflect the work that would comprise a full 9-minute presentation for the Showdown. The deadline for the worldwide call-for-submissions is February 11, 2007. Five selected photographers will be notified on March 1, 2007 that they will be flown to Whistler for the gala presentation at the 10 th annual Pro Photographer Showdown at the 2007 TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival, on April 18, 2007. The “Best of Show” award conferred at the renowned photography expose will see the winner join an alumni that includes Kevin Zacher, Jon Humphries and Blake Jorgenson, and earn them not only adulation from the 2000-strong crowd, and the recognition of their peers, but a $10,000 cash purse. Entry procedures for the Pro Photographer Showdown are available online at whistler2007.com.
