FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
In Whistler, when it comes to artistic expression, the Mountain
is a stage, and anything that moves is canvass.
In that spirit, TELUS, in association with the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard
Festival, has launched an art tag at the VAG to take place Saturday 31
March – a downtown Vancouver art installation that will spill
beyond the confines of a gallery and out onto the streets.
Featuring the deck-designs of five local artists, mounted on snowboards, the
TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival Artist Challenge Launch will be a teaser
of the artistic explosion set to take place during the Festival’s 10 days
and nights. High-octane meets high-brow, at the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard
Festival , with flagship afterdark events like the Fashion Exposed sensory
assault, Pro Photographer Showdown, Brave Art exhibit, Words and Stories jam
session and 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown translating the on-hill energy of the
world’s best ski and snowboard athletes into every conceivable artistic
medium.
TELUS technology puts the power in the hands of the people, to crown the winner,
by text-voting, or visiting www.telusmobility.com/artistchallenge < http://www.telusmobility.com/artistchallenge > to
log their preference AND go in the running to win their very own super-charged
getaway to Whistler for the Festival.
